even though it's still quite warm out, it is now october and the chuckwagon stew from table for two has been calling for weeks. i've been trying to use my cookbooks more and since the portion is small, it's good for experimenting. total success. i could not resist invoking carl weathers while adding in the gravy since i did indeed have a stew going.
p.s. happy world vegetarian day! very cool that vegan mofo and veg awareness month have collided so brilliantly this year, no?

the best part of stew are the carrots, well other than the stew as a whole. sounds perfect for today - in Seattle it's raining and gray.
